Game CEO Invites Players To Beat The Crap Out Of Him In WWE 2K26

Yes, his entrance theme song is “My Way” by Frank Sinatra, which is reportedly exclusive to him and cannot be applied to any other character’s entrance. As he enters, you can hear the announcers directly referencing his video game industry career and other trivia about Zelnick. A surprising amount of detail was put into this whole thing.

Bizarrely, Zelnick is rated at 77, according to in-game stats. He’s far from the best-rated wrestler in WWE 2K26, but he’s above a lot of real-life wrestlers, including WCW-era Eddie Guerrero, Bobby Newton, and William Regal.  And he’s right behind superstars like Triple H.

Now, while I imagine a lot of people out there would likely love to toss Zelnick around a ring for 20 minutes and slam a few chairs into his head, this whole thing is so gross. It feels like more evidence that video game execs and CEOs have become celebrities that many gamers follow like they might a movie star or a famed director. They pop up at big events, host livestreams, and announce big games. It’s led to a situation where some of these execs are seen as cool rockstars and not bean-counting businessmen who will fire people year after year to make that line go up.

There’s truly no reason Zelnick should be included in WWE 2K26. And the people involved seem to understand this, hence why he’s not mentioned in the patch notes.

My next question is: Will Zelnick pop up in Grand Theft Auto 6 later this year? Something tells me he wouldn’t want that.
