Today during Sony’s State of Play, the company officially announced Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, coming to PS5 and PC this October. And if you already own the PS4 version of the game you’ll be able to upgrade to the PS5 port for just $10.
Here’s the first trailer for the remastered Horizon Zero Dawn which will be out on Halloween.
Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered previously leaked earlier this month via an ESRB rating. But now Sony has officially confirmed it with a new trailer and provided us with some more information on the remastered open-world game, which first launched on PS4 back in 2017.
The new remastered Horizon Zero Dawn is being developed by both Guerrilla Games—the original studio behind the franchise—and Nixxes, a studio well-known for its PC ports. According to Sony, this new version of Zero Dawn will contain a lot of graphical improvements that will make it look a lot more like its 2022 sequel, Horizon Forbidden West. As well as visual improvements, the remaster will also include over 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue. That’s a big deal for a game that has a lot of cutscenes featuring people talking.
Sony also confirmed that people who already own Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the new PS5 version for just $10. It’s a nice discount on what will likely be a game that costs a lot more than just $10. It doesn’t seem like this nifty upgrade path will be available for PC users, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 31, just in time for Halloween.
