In the official art book for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare revealed that it was once toying with the idea of bringing Dragon Age II hero Hawke into the fold before ultimately scrapping a possible appearance. However, the RPG’s latest patch includes the next best thing: their iconic mage armor for your new hero Rook to wear. Along with all the expected bug fixes, of course.
Like the Mass Effect crossover armor before it, you’ll need to finish the quest called “The Singing Blade” before you’re able to wear Hawke’s old armor. Once you do, you’ll find it in the Lighthouse base next to the Workshop. The set includes the armor itself, as well as body paint and the blood-red smear Hawke has across their face in their default appearance. If you really want to channel the OG sarcastic Dragon Age protagonist while using those options in The Veilguard, this is how you commit to the bit. I wonder if characters like Varric and Isabela will acknowledge it? Would be surprising given the game goes out of its way to mention Hawke as little as possible, since The Veilguard doesn’t import your decision from Inquisition that may have left them to die in the Fade.
Beyond Hawke’s armor, here’s everything else in The Veilguard’s fourth patch:
